Three significant awards for Whisman Giordano and Associates

The first award went to Edward Devenny, CPA, who was honoured as a "DBT40" by the Delaware Business Times. According to the Delaware Business Times, the DBT40 honour "is awarded to a select group of the region's best and brightest young professionals, all under the age of 40, who are making a difference with their intelligence, initiative, and innovation." There is additional news regarding Devenny, who was recently promoted to the position of Director. Devenny joined Whisman Giordano in 2019 and immediately made an impact with his commitment to client service and team leadership.

The second award, also from the Delaware Business Times, was the "Legacy Award”, as part of their Family-Owned Business Awards event. In order to qualify for this award, a company must have at least two generations of one family active in the business.

This business must have demonstrated its ability to not only survive but to thrive year after year, decade after decade.

Whisman Giordano was described as a firm that "stayed true to its family roots and grown into one of the top 10 firms in this category in the state" and "always punch above their weight class." Joseph V. Giordano, President and Managing Partner, accepted the award.

The third in the trio of good news was for Lisa DeRose, CPA, CGMA, who was recognised with the "Women in Business" honour from Delaware Today Magazine. This award goes to the top female business leaders in the state, emphasising their work as a trailblazer and what they do beyond excelling in their career field. As is the case with DeRose, she helped found the Delaware chapter of the ACE Mentor Program in 2010 and has been involved ever since. The programme has given over USD 100,000 in scholarships to high school students and introduces them to career opportunities in the building design and construction industries.
